ORPHAN GRADUATES
Most orphan children graduate from the orphanage at 16 years of age, shy of two years of education required to even consider college. Their destiny is a technical school with no family support system, or attempting to find work in a society that deems the orphan not trustworthy, incapable of most abilities and an easy target for a world ready to take advantage of them. Most end up on the streets, in prostitution, drugs, prison, human trafficking, etc.
There are many orphan graduates that we had the privilege of getting to know through our summer program, that we continue to keep in touch with and try to assist. Their basic mode of safety and survival is a cell phone that connects them to their peers as well as friends that can possibly help them when they are in trouble.
Orphan graduates are in great need of love and attention and people who can help guide them in their choices.
